Helloooo ! This is very old news. The whole deal fell apart because LX didn't want to switch their FQTV's to BA Executive Club. Silly LX - their loss.

So silly!

What about Star Alliance or Skyteam? Are they ready to join?

They NEED an alliance.

I've heard that they simply don't have the money to integrate into OneWorld. To much to standardize IT systems. etc, Freq. flyer programme was just an excuse.

SkyTeam said no even before any application/negotiation.

True it is a shame but I was under the impression the requests BA made were too demanding for Swiss

BA was requesting the list of all the top FQTVs (Gold, Cercle and Millon Miles Club)...so offering better deals to fly BA. This Swiss refused and came out badly as BA gained slots in exchange for 50Mio. BA played their cards very well with this one!

Why did AF object to LX's entry into Skyteam? Swiss Air and Delta had a great partnership at one time.

Unfortunately, LX wouldn't bring any additional value to SkyTeam, such as additional destinations, etc. SkyTeam is already loaded with European carriers and CDG is too close to ZRH...

They should sell themselves to Emirates and Malaysian....
So Emirates ( currently in no alliance ) would get a european feeder into Dubai and Malaysian a partner in Europe .The three together would have a reasonable size

A little late on the news these days. If you do a search, you can most likely find many posts on this.
