Aerofloat will announce at the beginning of next week a tender for upto 40, short-haul aircraft. Aeroflot needs aircraft with a capacity of up to 100 passengers and with a range of up to 2,500 km. Aerofloat will need upto 40 planes.

I suppose the E170-190 series are also options.

The news release said As reported earlier, previously Aeroflot declared that it was going to ask the government to allow the company to import short-range aircraft on a duty-free basis. Maybe the RRJ is out as it has not been built yet.

Okay so thats the A318 the 717 and the E170-190s really.
Any of those would be interesting on Aeroflot operations, but I'd hedge my bets on the A318.

How full are the production lines for the A318, B717 and the E170-190? Aeroflot might want the a/c asap.

I read in past issue (last one) of Airliner World that SU is planing to add short haul airplanes from western manufactores (ATRs?, B717?), and than replace them by RRJs later this decade.

I guess the E170 production line will have a few empty delivery slots if the US Airways deliveries are stopped pending their exit from Ch 11.

Andrej - you're right it did menton both the ATR72 and 717 - I thought I;d heard that rumour somewhere.

That tender was announced ages ago - something like July/August as far as I remember.

They will be announcing the winner very soon.

Hopefully, someone from Boeing might step into the forum, and realize there is an actual tender out there perfect for the 717. Heaven knows they do not try to sell this plane with any enthusiasm.

I bet Embraer will get it. Mixture of ERJ-145 and 170/190. They have a lot of production slots after suspending deliveries to US so they will be willing to discount their not too expensive anyway planes.

probably the ERJ-170/190 since US airways deliveries stopped recently and the line is open for about 80+ planes on short term, but same goes for the other planes like A318, 717 since the line hasn't got much orders so space enough for a big order. i really hope the winner will be A318 or 717, simply because both aren't doing great business recently....
