I read somewhere the other day, may even have been here, that Iraqi Airways were set to resume flights. What aircraft do they have left??? We have several ex Iraqi Airways guys here at NZ, and they mentioned a few 727's and a couple of 747SP's. Can anyone provide some insight??

Cheers
NZ1

I know that they used to operate 727s 732s and 747SP's, but I have read some where that those aircraft will not be used. I have been given the idea that the new airline will start regional operations using a few 737s (not sure which type) but I have heard nothing about the 747SP's and 727's being brought back into service.

It is the B737-200.

I think that you will find that there is an existing thread.

I thought the (original) 747's and 727's were pretty well dismantled and looted just before the first Gulf War. Doubt those will ever see the air again.
