A local KC website posted an expected press announcement today for 3 new nonstops cities from KC as follows

1) currently has seasonal nonstop service ....that would be SFO

2) had nonstop service b4 9/11, to be reinstated ,could be BOS,AUS,MSY

3)currently has no nonstop service..

Can anyone verify?..bit surprised i heard of such on a non-aviation webiste as opposed to a.net

Wow! Midwest returns to MSY. That's quite a surprise! They left in May 2003...hopefully, they'll do better this time around. I think the seasonal service is a good move for starters, but it wouldn't surprise me to see the service operate on a year-round basis. There is certainly enough demand between the two cities' to warrant it. Welcome back YX!

They were still at MSY long after 9/11

MCI-MSY went from six daily nonstops on two carriers (sometimes more than one of them sold out on either airline, to zero in less than a year.

I'm to this day, still rather shocked that WN never initiated service on the routing.
