Thread 8 is full. Time for Nine...
To repeat from the end of last thread..
Due to Ship 012 going belly up in IAH this morning, EWR was short a 777. So CO 51 EWRIAH was swapped down to a 757. Ship 014 was rerouted thusly...
9/27 .... EWR 90 TLV
9/28 TLV 91 EWR
9/29 EWR 9 NRT
.... Oh.. and the phrase 'belly up' is just a yankee expression... It's out of service due Mx.

I'd like to see 006 painted in the old color scheme with the name on the front. Gotta dig and find my pic of the DC-10-30 060 in HNL many years ago, you can see it plain as day on the front... "Robert F. Six".
Fat chance of that happening, of course, but I can always wish.

My Buddy, TrvlingFool, just informed me that I must disappoint both Nate and Chris as some unknown person at 1600 Smith St. has changed PM's routing for the 30th..
9/30 NRT 8 EWR 56 CDG
10/1 CDG 57 EWR 51 IAH
... EWRIAH...Hmmmm... Guess that thrust reverser for Ship 012 must have finally arrived....

Hot diggity. I'm booked to ride CO23 EWR-IAH on 10/1.. maybe I try to standby on CO51 instead!
Wishful thinking, of course, I'd miss my IAH-AUS connection. Think I can arrange to be at the gate when 57 arrives from CDG with camera in hand, since it arrives 1200, and I don't depart until 1355.
Ok, so CO51/014 arrives IAH too late on 10/1 to go anywhere else that night. Means there's only 5 flights it could take on 10/2. 7/NRT, 50/EWR, 34/LGW, 10/CDG, 4/LGW. It's been to NRT, EWR and CDG recently, so I'll wager a Starbucks that it goes to LGW as 34 on 10/2.

Only two 777s RON in IAH. So 51's aircraft has to either turn 7 to NRT or 50 to EWR. 34 has to turn off either 6 or 35. 4 and 10 can turn from 6,35,5, or 11. This leaves one aircraft to RON along with 51 to make up the next day's 7 and 50. Hope that makes sense.

A 737-800 would look great on those special colors, sorta like a "Peter Max" junior As I'm not a big fan of the Continental livery, I can't help to stare at every pic of Peter Max's 777 I come across. It's just simply stunning. Even better, both sides of the aircraft are painted different! Unfortunately the 777 service MCO had was downgraded therefore I've never gotten to see PM in the flesh.

The RON thing makes perfect sense. I was just offering the friendly wager of guessing that 014 would go to LGW as 34 instead of back to EWR as 50 or to NRT as 7, since it's the last 777 to arrive that day at 1929. Since 5 and 6 arrive within 20min of each other, presumably the earlier arrival would be turned to make the last 777 departure that day, the later one would RON and depart the next day as the first 777 departure of that following day, likely as 7 to NRT.
I know, I'm just the dumb pax trying to outguess the folks at 1600 Smith... anthough I thought most of this stuff was done out of the Allen Parkway offices.

Bummer.. but thx IAHcsr for letting us know the correction for PM's route today. I am still waiting for PM to fly CO 35 route as they usually get the "photographer friendly" runway 27 as CO 6 almost always is assigned runway 26L. Will have to try next week

Allen Parkway?... Oh... Yeah. What we use to call AGC. CO HQ moved from there several years ago. Things that were spread out all over Houston were combined into two (walkway connected) buildings at 1600 Smith and 600 Jefferson.
And there is nothing to be 'dumb' about once you understand the flow pattern.
Working very hard to Fly Right....
25 Drerx7: Hopefully it'll run CO51 EWR-IAH on Oct. 17th--that's when I'll be on a CO777 next.
26 Iahcsr: Buddy TrvlingFool just provided the current plan.. Ship 014 9/30 .... EWR 56 CDG 10/1 CDG 57 EWR 51 IAH 10/2 IAH 50 EWR 90 TLV
27 COEWR2587: Hopefully this time, it CAN make it to IAH!
28 Dantiger: Actually Peter Max is an artist, not a plane. He designs the livery for the aircraft and then it is painted to that design. Enter Peter Max in you sea
29 Iahcsr: Peter Max .. The Plane .. is still IAH bound today... Ship 014 10/1 ... EWR 51 IAH 10/2 IAH 50 EWR 90 TLV 10/3 TLV 91 EWR
30 AlitaliaMD11: Hey did Peter Max always opperate TLV this much???
31 Ndebelebev: Well AlitaliaMD11 That is a project Iahcsr is in the process of doing. I'm sure he will elaborate in Part 10 which is due anytime now me thinks. Regar
32 Greg: Why should we care where it's flying (I think I'm missing the significance)? Maybe this should be in the hobby section?
33 LX23: Greg: Theres a bunch of us that care...if you don't just shut up, and move along. IAHcsr: thanks for the updates
34 AlitaliaMD11: Hey its gone past 30!!!!!! I do agree that there is a lot of us who enjoy Peter Max and think it is just fine in the Civil Aviation fourm.
35 Dantiger: I am trying to remember the airline ( maybe Braniff) that had very wild and sometimes attractive color schemes. It seems like the originator was not a

37 Iahcsr: Wow... This thread got busy all of a sudden... But I think I'll let it run to 50 this time... If for no other reason then needing to think up a title
38 Iahcsr: Sorry to have been gone for a while.... PayPal and A.net had a comunication glich and I got locked out of the forum until our Kind and Wonderful Leade
39 Greg: LX23...just seems kind of lame to follow around a single aircraft because of its paintjob... Make that totally lame....so you shut up...you..you..you.
40 Apuneger: No, please continue For the tenth thread: 'Continental's Peter MAXcapades' or so? Ivan
41 LX23: Greg: It's kind of simple...name any other special paintjobs on CO planes at the moment. It's like "why would anyone want to know where Wunula or Nala
42 Iahcsr: ''Continental's Peter MAXcapades' ... I like it... So shall it be... But first.. Ship 014 10/4 ... EWR 56 CDG 10/5 CDG 57 EWR 84 TLV 10/6 TLV 85 EWR 9
43 Dantiger: Thanks Lahcsr, but Calder designed mobils as pieces of art and was not a painter. Greg I agree with you and LX23 you were quite rude in telling him to
44 Iahcsr: An artist did disign the artwork on at least one Braniff aircraft. For some reason Calder's name came to mind... If it was not he ... Then ???
