I recently flew through Logan Airport on United. On my return flight, I noticed the jetway of gate C19 had an American flag on top of it: This was the only gate I saw with a flag, which leads me to ask: Was C19 the gate that United flight 175 departed from on 9/11? Just curious ...

Yes, indeed. It was above C19 in Aug. 2003, when I travelled through there as well.
When I flew home from BOS that day, I walked down the concourse, and curious about which gate it was, I asked the UA customer service rep. at the counter, albeit quietly, not knowing what his reaction to my question would be. He confirmed it was C19.
I went down there, and took some pictures of the gate area, and the flag above it. The same CSR then walked up to me, and asked me if I knew anyone on #175. I indicated I didn't, and then he went on to tell me he lost his roommate and best friend on that flight. He also said that he was the one who made the boarding announcement that day as well. He was doing his best to not shed a tear, but wow...I didn't know what to say.

It gives you a very odd and unsettling feeling to walk down that jetbridge at C19 knowing those @#$% terrorists did it as well.
On a lighter note, there is a beautiful quilt downstairs in the employee area that has contributions from AA employees and signatures/pictures/etc. It is an inspiring sight given the age of airline competition. It is unfortunately not in an area customers can view though. Does anyone have a picture of it?
