According to several new soruces, Air Asia's order for new aircraft is imminent - a deal that could be more worth more than $6 billion at list prices. The deal would include 50 firm + 50 options for either Airbus' A320s or Boeing's B73NGs. Air Asia currently operates a fleet of 19 B733 and plans to expand it to 24 B733s before the year is out.
In a related development, Air Asia has secured the final approval from the Malaysian Securities Commision for its IPO, which can be launched as early as November.
