If It Happens To US....

If the event happens and US goes under, who do you think will take over the markets. Airports, routes, aircraft anything. Will it be better for LLC or the legacy's?

As many pundits have said the Legacy's don't have enough money for a massive expansion to take over a city. As NWA has stated PIT could be looked into as a possible source of new income but it's assumed it would only be from their existing system which is largely Midwestern. I'd assume most Legacies would look at PIT's possibilities the same way - a stronger spoke to a hub. With the rush of money into LCCs and potential startups of that ilk PIT could fit into any expansion plan.

USAir only makes up 4 percent of the seats today so that would hardly create a great sucking sound in their absence. PIT however could be a good revenue source center for an LCC.

The article also mentions that PHL's DOA could be be giving WN Gates D2 & D4; those gates were former-US gates.
