Okay, quick disclaimer:

The financial state of the airlines is no laughing matter, nor is the possiblity of thousands of employees losing jobs. So please don't take this post to be callous or unfeeling in any way.

That said, I saw this cartoon today and thought about posting it here. So here it is:

I don't see aviation related cartoons that often. I thought this one was kind of funny. *treads carefully*

Hmmm... I see Bankruptcy Air is doing well in the takeover department.

Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

I'd say it's inaccurate and unfair to include DL into this... as unlike they other two, they are not bankrupt.

Excuse my observation if I point out that you'd have to be either blind or a flippin' idiot to miss it  Yeah sure

I guess the cartoonist is trying to predict the future. *shrug*

Seems Delta is the furtherest away from the engine.

Seems he just needed a third airline to toss in

Someone special in the air

I think it's a cartoonist expressing the general feeling in the industry.

I feel bad for the USAirways plane. Big grin This cartoon just makes you wanna root for the little guys. (Or big guys, as they are in real life.)

Hopefully DL can get out of the suction of that fan.....but UsAir may be closer to the blades than we think. Realistic cartoon no less, I liked it.

[overanalyzing for a second]

So if USAirways, Delta, and United are the little guys, who's the Big Guy with the Bankruptcy model engines?

 Nuts

I'd say this is very accurate. Delta is NOT far behind United and USAirways. I think the Delta folks are in denial just as the USAir folks were Big grin
