Has there been any talk of DL moving their ops at DTW from the Smith Terminal over to the McNamara terminal so that they'll be better situated to work with their new Skyteam partners?

United 717 heavy, you're facing the wrong way. Any chance you can powerback to get off of my deice pad?

They and Comair will be moving, just as Continental and Northwest did in CVG.

Didn't DL have issues with moving? I thought NW wanted to give them RJ gates at Concourse C and a mainline gate a Concourse A - but DL didn't want their gates separated. Can anyone confirm this?

SO -- Continental, KLM, Delta, NWA will all fly out of McNamara then. And of course, Lufthansa and British Airways do. So the old terminal now is just Spirit, US Air and United?

Do LH , RJ and BA have dedicated gates, or just roll up to a NW gate?

LH & BA and RJ don't have dedicated gates. They just use one of the international gates from NW. They use the same gate(s) every day for their flight. During other times of the day, NW uses them for their flights.

The Smith terminal will still have:
American
United
USAirways
Spirit
Southwest
Indy Air
America West

Yes, NW operates a daily DTW-LGW and has for close to a decade now.

British Airways & Royal Jordanian Move to the McNamara Terminal...
Effective Thursday, July 8th: British Airways & Royal Jordanian will move their flight operations from the Berry Terminal to the McNamara Terminal. Travelers flying these airlines should check-in at the British Airways ticket counter located at the south end of the McNamara Terminal ticket lobby. If LH,BA,and RJ use the same gate everyday, it sure sounds like a dedicated gate to me. granted NW also uses the gates the rest of the time.

If you look at the gates BA & LH use, you will notice that their logos are etched into the glass behinf the podium.

BA handles RJ n Detroit.

This is a dedicated gate.

I guess we have different meanings of the more dedicated.
We both mean the same thing, but I mean since it is technically NW's gate that they lease to the other airlines.
