Section 145 of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act is set to expire 11/19/04, should the public be careful about booking USAirways, United or Delta?

Should it be renewed or should free markets prevail?

Details of the Act can be viewed at http://dms.dot.gov/general/orders/aug02/183624_web.pdf

I think that this is a good law, however the $25.00 each way fee should be changed to $50.00 each way to help the transporting airline. As long as the passenger is allowed to be ticketed with the lowest level of standby the transporting airline should not have too much to worry about. Not only will they not loose anything by transporting that passenger they also have a great opportunity to gain a customer. Its a good law but even if it wasn't a law the airlines would do it anyway....
