Im flying BD 701 from MAN to IAD in November. I know ill be arriving at Concourse 'C', but then im connecting to a UAX flight to ATL.

Ive never connected at IAD before, as its usually my 'final' destination.

Im used to going downstairs from my gate, then going 'straight' before boarding the shuttle for the main terminal then joining the huge line at immigration  Sad

What do i do if im connecting??

Thanks

Lee

Lee, if you connect, you're not taken on the shuttle to the main terminal, but you go through immigration in the terminal you're arriving in - it's been a while since I've connected through IAD, my last time for that was in November 2002 on the way from LHR to DEN (on UA mainline, not absolutely sure if UAX leaves from the same terminal).

After immigration you take stairs back up into the terminal from where you can continue to your gate.

Frank

Get out of the aircraft, and follow the signs that say "connections" or something like that. You're going to have to go downstairs, through passport control (where you will have to place both index fingers on the scanner and get your photo taken), pick up your suitcases from one conveyor belt and walk them about 20 metres to another conveyor belt, walk through metal detectors, and up to the terminal and finding your flight. Hope this helps.

Edit: as you can see, Frank beat me by about 7 seconds. The last time I connected through IAD was in April

Do the new rules only pertain to Immigration, and not customs? ie does he have to do a claim if required, and even his luggage searched if required?
