I was at IAH on Monday (10/04/04) at about 1 or 2 PM. I'm not postive but I'm pretty sure I saw the Embraer 170 in the new United color scheme. If I were in Vegas I'd wager $100 saying thats what I saw.
I just want to confirm my sighting. Anyone able to give me confimation?
I was a very sharp looking plane, and the livery looks great.

I can reassure you that said plane does exist. I can't confirm if it was at IAH.

The E170 will be operating IAD-IAH for United, so it was probably on a proving run or an airport test run (whatever you call those, where they see how the aircraft fits at certain gates. UA did this at ORD with the 777). So you aren't seeing things.

One of the EMB-170's was at DAY this past Sunday doing touch and go's. Looks beautiful in the new livery. Wright Brothers Aero used one of our tugs to pull equipment over to the airplane to refuel it. It was sitting directly out from our gate around 8:30ish.

Yes, it does exist... I don't know if it was in IAH but it's always a possibility...

Thanks for the confirmation guys. I saw it taking off, so it was a fair distance away. Now I know I wasn't seeing things.
This is definately the best looking EMB 170 livery so far. I've gotta get back and get some photos.
The Delta livery would look sweet on this plane too. A SkyWest purchase maybe? Just some wishful thinking.

I can confirm that the Em170 was definitely at IAH on Monday as 3 rolls of Kodachrome 64 can attest! Got a chance to tour the airplane, liked the first class section (6/64 configuration) and the flight deck is quite spacious compared to the 145/135s...
IAH-IAD starts on the morning of the 17th as well as the IND service mentioned above...

Admluvs2fly,
United Express, being operated by Republic Airways, which is an offshoot of Chautauqua Airlines (or actually is the holding companies' new identity, help me out!?) will be flying the Embraer 170 on behalf of United. Start date is October 17th from IAH-IAD and IND-ORD.
CALMSP, first off, are you in the North ramp tower permanently or in training or ???? Good for you if it's permanent...we'll be talking soon enough then.
US has 72 coach seats, one class only. I've been on both planes now and US's does seem a bit more roomy, but UA does have the Economy Plus seating in coach as well as the first class so either way, the ride seems to be comfy.
