Guys,

Was wondering what the status on this aircraft is. A7-HHH

I know it is painted in full Qatar Airways colors but operates for the Amiri Flight. Question is how often does it fly and where has it been seen? What kind of routes is the Amiri Flight using this long range bird on?

The only photos of this bird are with the Temp Registration and has not been shot since coming from the Factory, surely it must fly around.

It flies varying routes at the whim of the Emir of Qatar... state visits and whatnot.

Why he opted for a 345 when just about any airframe would have been fine is beyond me, unless the furnishings aboard are particularly heavy.

too much money, not enough sense if you ask me.

I wonder what sort of layout it is fitted with.

With an aircraft like that QR could have launched 3, possibly 4 services per week to Australia.

Oh well....

I'm sure there was some ego involved in this purchase "ha ha mine flies further then yours"

Has it been delivered yet? I thought it was rebuilt by Sogerma in Bordeaux as well as an A330?

Last I heard the reason why no newer pictures exist is that this aircraft is still VIP-outfitting. Such an operation can easily take 1 or 2 years.

I read in an earlier thread it was supposed to be delivered to Qatar this autumn. Can't remember the exact date though.

Btw, at Farnborough (?) they also bought two Global Express, will they be used by Amiri flight as well?

Ok I already posted some information on these aircraft in another post....

The A340-500 and the A330 are both still at EADS Sogerma services for VIP outfitting (and an amazing one!!!!)

Delay is around one year now, I think QAF was close to take the aircraft back since they were very upset about the delays...

Can't remember which one (I think it's the A345), should be delivered at the end of October. Ground test have started in mid September.

Concerning the A330, er................still waiting Big grin

I knew I had read it somewhere. Thanks for the update.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

A year delay? That can't be for real? What kind of planning do they have at Sogerma? I'm sure they'll be amazing. I'd love to see some picture from the cabin.

I was lucky enough to catch A7-HHK in CLE - it is an A340-211 which I got some decent shots of on my personal website. It is a very pretty plane - I can imagine the 500 is even better! I believe the Amiri of Qatar was in CLE for a visit to the clinic.

If it is just a VIP plane then will it fly further (longer range)? May be the amir will fly this plane anywhere in the world non-stop.
