As per the topic title - when is the busiest time of day for the 3 NYC airports?

Thanks

not sure about the others, but at JFK busy times are:

6am-10am domestic departures and some Asian departures I think
1pm-4pm Most Euro flights arrive during this time
5pm-9pm most Euro departures leave at this time

Some see lines, others see between the lines.

At JFK, the busiest departure times are from 6pm to 8pm. Nothing but European departures from numerous airlines, too many to mention. Arrivals are usually from 3pm to 5pm. LGA is very busy in the morning with departures. Every major city has a departure in the 6 o'clock hour. EWR has busy times the same as JFK.

EWR and LGA are pretty much busy all day long. JFK has a busy period in the morning and then is pretty quiet until the afternoon when it gets super busy with European flights and many domestic transcons as well.

That is correct and to add a lilttle more to that about LGA is....they are usually super busy in the late afternoon 7-10 with both Arrivals and Dep. Morning is super busy with mostly Departing Traffic.

Thanks for the tips. Just wanted to watch them on passur.com but always seemed to pick a quiet time of day.

In the early evening hours at JFK around 1800L, it's quite common to see 15-20 airplanes in line for take-off. These are mostly heavies (lots of DL 763s) heading across the Atlantic. What a beautiful sight!
