Next month, I am flying to LCY from LUX. I am currently booking my flights and it appears that two flights have very similar characteristics (time and aircraft F50).
The only difference is the airline, one is with LUXAIR while the other is with VLM.
Do you recommend one particular option.
Also, I would be glad to hear any comments about LUXAIR which is the airline of my new home country.

Another aspect in your booking decision is obviously the fare price.
Depending on the respective fare policies and on the recorded forward bookings, both airlines may sell seats at very differing fares.
Did I hear a rumour that LG may introduce a regional jet on LUX-LCY?

At the moment you have VLM and Luxair from LUX to LCY, Luxair to LHR and BA to LGW.
VLM and Luxair both use the F50 to LCY, Flight time is 1h10min. to LHR you usually get the ERJ-145 and to LGW the 737-300/500 from BA. Early in 2005, Luxair is going to replace the F50 on the LUX-LCY run with ERJ-135. Let's see if the "jet advantage" will do any harm to VLM who keep their F50. I personally prefer the Fokker
Service wise: Both LG and VLM offer a snack service on board the flights, with free drinks etc. Crews on both airlines are usually friendly.
Fare.wise I found that VLM often offers a better deal. But this might be due to the fact that I often need oneway tickets, which are expensive at Luxair.
