Hello

Is it true that easyJet's Ray Webster is currently in Dortmund to announce a further route out of the airport as well as 4 new routes from Berlin?

Regards,

Yes. There has been a Reuters newsrelease about this. Regarding the question, which route will be added to the Dortmund network, I suppose it will be one to another EasyJet focus city, e.g. BSL.

Ok cheers for that. The route is rumoured for a while now so I hope it will happen.
Unfortunately not early enough for the Schalke04- FC Basel game Big grin

Actually, EZY also has the 0-Euro-offer on all of its other routes to/ from DTM. Made for some highyl effective, but reasonably prices Christmas presents.  Smile

The 0 EUR offer is actually a 45,50 EUR offer:

Fare: 0,00 EUR
Taxes: 19,50 EUR per flight
Credit card fee: 6,50 EUR per booking
Total: 45,50 EUR

@Patrick,

Hmmm... considering that I have just booked 2 return flights for my girlfriend and me to Paris for a total of 62.50 Euro including the dreaded credit card fee, your calculation must be somewhat flawed.  Smile

Even including the various taxes and fees, I would have paid about twice as much for flights by LH and AF from DUS to CDG - and that's a margin I am not willing to tolerate for just about the same product (not even taking into account, that I'm living only 15 minutes from DTM, but 1 hour from DUS).

Hmmm... I received their newsletter yesterday and I think I read that you have to pay 19,50 EUR taxes per person/flight and 6,50 EUR credit card fee per booking but I didn't look to closely because I am not interested to book a flight.

Hi Glenn

Luton-Basle (twice daily) starts on November 1st but was announced a long time ago.
Might visit LTN for a day trip early next year (just to fly on the 737-700 Big grin )

I can't complain about the extremely low air fares found sometimes on any of the LCC's... but I wish that the carriers would "grow up" and just include the CC fee in the ticket price (and the handling charges, too!)

First off, CC processing doesn't cost EZY anywhere near 6.50 EUR (if you can believe it, FR's CC fee is only 2.50 EUR). After all, it is all done electronically with no human intervention when the ticket is booked via the web. Second, they have your money before you fly - and that can be anywhere from days to weeks, perhaps they should give you an interest rebate on the length of time that they have your money (  Smile ).

Philippe Vignon, marketing chief of easyJet just confirmed that they will launch Dortmund-Basel-Dortmund next year, most likely with a twice daily service. easyJet will base a 4th aircraft in DTM.

Certainly good news for DTM (and BSL). If only we could get back our double daily rotation to VIE now (formerly operated by AB, before they threw a hissy fit when EZY started ops at DTM). Unfortunately this seems to be very unlikely, since it is not an Easy destination (sorry 'bout the pun!). Big grin

It seems that AB have also had a fit at the easyJet and Ryanair ops in SXF.
