I was wondering whether the 744s ANA uses on the routes to NRT have the international config, ie with F, C and Y class. I know that on the services into HND they only have Economy and the Super Seats, but maybe the 744s into NRT go on to intl destinations afterwards?
Also, I would like to know whether ANA and JAL have their dedicated gates at HND and ITM, or whether all the gates are used by any airline.

There are only a few routes where int'l configured 744s are regularly seen on domestic flights in Japan and they all involve flights to/from NRT.
NH uses 744 on HND-ITM.
JL uses 744/777/763 int'l configs on NRT-ITM/FUK/CTS/NGO.
Int'l config 743s are regularly seen in domestic service to fill caapacity gaps when a 744D or 773 goes into maintenance.
JL & NH both have dedicated gates at HND and ITM. There will be a new terminal exclusively for NH plus Skymark and/or Air Do at HND in Dec04.
NH often used 763ER on domestic routes in the past but are now rare because of the increasing demand for them on routes to China.
744s are not rarely flown domestically because domestic gates are primarily capable of accepting wingspan of 747-classic or 777. The extra span of the 744 would limit the a/c wingspan at adjacent gates.

I have been on a Shell Flat F suite from NRT-ITM, 50 minute ride. I think the time that it took us to pushback and taxi and take off was longer than the flight time. Usually, I always request the maindeck at the front because some Ac's have economy on the second deck. Service is domestic but I the cabin feels international. Sleep and massage, its the exact same price for a Y class and F class ticket anyways.
