"meet flyi people before they are still as rude as ACA!"-Jetboyflyhi
Amen to that...do I, again, need to invoke the story about how I paid for a ticket to fly down to Dulles for an interview, had the interview cancelled after I got there, and then was denied another one, stating that they had no interest in me?

FWIW, I talked to an FA on monday on my flight back to IAD. She said that the Florida cities would start first and continue to expand, and that the west coast is slightly delayed because they don't want to start service there without TV, and apparantly the contract for direcTV with B6 fell through... so I don't know what their contingency plan is. Both my flights were close to 100% full, but it was Columbus day weekend. She said flights were running between 50 and 60% full for her in Sept. So maybe LF will improve, but I doubt to a break even level. In terms of new destinations, with the A319s being delivered quite rapidly, they expect to serve most of the west coast by the end of next year. AUS was also mentioned as a possible destination out of IAD. All the DH people were very nice.

Flew them last week for the first time since they were ACA. BDL-IAD-GSO and back. Outbound flights were around 50-60% full. On return both 100% full. Nice to see smiling cabin crew, and Captain explains everything after you all board, even down to one of our CRJ's having noisy gear retraction.

Independence Air has such a harsh and divided place among aviation enthusiasts. Either you really like us, or you flat out hate us (and will tell everyone too). It's almost as bad as politics. The fact is, we have a great "group of folks" (as Bush would say) and unfortunately not every flight is perfect. I've flown over 25 flights on IDE since June 16th and I can say that overall, Independence Air is a great, refreshing alternative to the other legacy carriers. I'm not just saying that because I work for them, I'm saying that because it's the truth. I've taken companions, taken my parents, my relatives, and all of them say that it is the best airline they have ever flown on. Now in all my flights I have been through the ringer also, and understand that airlines can't run at their best 100% of the time. I've been delayed, bumped, cancelled, had rude FA's, horrid landings, etc. The fact is it happens. It's NOT exclusively Independence Air folks. I've also flown other carriers since June 16th. Believe it or not, yes it happens on them too.
OK I'm done venting. Just give it an open-minded shot people.
Back to the topic...
AUS and DFW were on the map over the summer for possible future routes, MSN was not however. At the same time tho, HSV and CLT were not on that map and now they have RJ service daily. HSV is even getting the TPA/MCO routes.
Loads for September should be out soon. Don't expect anything too spectacular here tho. If I'm not mistaken, Sept was slow for everyone.

They're "suspicious" because they haven't release September traffic? So they don't rush out and wave their load factors around like everyone else does. Its not the end of the world.
I know IDE is losing money right now. But really so is everyone else. So rushing out to advertise to the world that you filled 80% of your seats in September means nothing if you have to add the caveat that you lost money. You can't take load factor to the bank.
Are there any LCC's you aren't extremly critical of?

I have flown them over a dozen times and I can say they are very close to becoming my new favorite airline (sorry NW). The crews are simply awesome, nicest pilots and FAs I have ever encountered on a consistent basis. Maybe someday my name will be changed to FLYi747-400....

Everything I've personally heard is that we are not going to be in Canada anytime soon. Don't take this to the bank tho. I would have never guessed that a place like HSV would get both a MCO and TPA route either...

I heard some news today about expantion cities. LAX was supposed to be opened when MCO was but we are having facility problems so it's been delayed til early next year. SFO is to be the 3rd Airbus city. Look for Ft. Meyers and Miami by mid 2005 . Look for SAT and Las for Mid to late 2005. Myrtle beach is a possible expantion city for the RJ too. Thats all the news I have today.
Just My 2 Cents
The opinions I post are of mine and mine alone, not of the airline I work for.
