Airtravel is the best form of transportation?
There are people who need the speed of airtravel, but some others will take the boat, or a train. It depends where you need it for, if you like it, if you can afford it etc etc... For us A.netters is the perfect way to travel, for many others it's not.

Calling Air Travel the best form of transportation is nonsens. It is the best for certain kinds of transportation. But for shopping I prefer my car, to work I use a commuter train and to Australia I fly.

Try driving from New York to Phoenix using such panoramic routes as Interstate-80 in Pennsylvania and Interstate-40 in Arizona, you'll understand why flying is amazing.

Where train could compete with air travel air travel is not the BEST form of transportation, because otherwise it wouldn't compete.
Sometimes air travel is better and other times train or coach.
For PHL-YYZ air travel doesn't compete with coaches or trains. I would guess both have an combined market share of under 5%. But air tavel between WAS and NYC competes with coaches and trains. And there where some topics in the past which discussed when which mode of transportation is favourable.
