I was wondering what the EVA 744 offered in it's business and first calss. There are no recent picture and I am planning on traveling to HKG from SFO right around Christmas and was wondering what type of service they offered in these classes compaired to UA, SQ, Asiana, Cathay Pacific, ect.

Thanks for any help!

Thanks again.

Hi,

Business Class and First Class haven't changed on EVA's 747-400s since 1992. Since you are flying from SFO, the aircraft will be 747-400 Combi, where the First Class and Business Class are both in the Upper Deck.

F Class - 75" Pitch, 8 Seats
C Class - 44" Pitch, 16 Seats

The seats are actually the same seats in F and C.

I also recently wrote a trip report for TPE-LAX in C, so you can read that here.

I also have the September menu for BR 111 in C that leaves LAX at midnight if you are interested.

I have just booked 'evergreen deluxe class' (something life a premium economy) from sydney to london for my folks. Got a GREAT fare. Anyone know much about the seats or service? Any different from EVA economy?

Well Economy Deluxe class is different from Economy Class. You will have your own dedicated Economy Deluxe check-in line. The seats are arranged in eight abreast 2-4-2 and you have a printed menu, as well as slightly upgraded meals. You will also get an amenity kit as well as a pair of slippers. There are personal TV... not the fancy one, but the classic with eight channels playing a cycle. The service should be fine... but from SYD to TPE, I believe that EVA only has a two-class planes -- business and economy. ON that segment, you will get the regular economy class product.

About HKG to TPE onto SFO, business is so-so, but the seats are really outdated. You can read from the report, but first class is still alright -- not a full suite, but good enough... I like the meals... I flew HKG-TPE-LAX and back on First class last year... and you could find the report at the trip report section.

Safe travels...

Carfield

Sometime in November or December, SYD-TPE will soon be replaced with the new A330-200. You can expect new PTVs and AVOD in Economy.

I don't know if EVA is planning to introduce their new Premium Laurel Class on their 747s. It sure doesn't seem like it, but feel free to correct me.
