Back in the old days (pre-2000), America West Express Beech 1900Ds wore the old America West livery. Since then, Air Midwest has taken over those aircraft from Mesa, but are wearing Mesa livery, old-USAir livery or no livery at all! It's absolutely disgusting that America West Express Beech operation is not wearing the new America West livery. Does America West not pay them to paint their planes?

I am by no means an expert on YV, but my guess is they do not get paid by AW to paint them, and YV does not want to spend the money to repaint them. I don't think there is many of those around, I think they just operate a few routes into PHX. I know Mesa does operate MCI-OMA on those, but not for AW that i'm aware of.

I remember this topic a couple years ago and was told that the 1900's were leaving the HP Express fleet... apparently that hasn't happened, but I'm assuming Mesa is planning for them to leave anyway, so why repaint them?
Maybe they're not exactly sure when they'll leave the fleet, so why repaint them if they very well might leave sooner than expected?

Mesa wants to put a Beech or two on the Freedom Air certificate to keep it active, now that the CRJs are going/have gone over to Mesa.
They are having issues finding people who want the stigma of Freedom Air attached to their name..... they better be locals as they'll never get a jumpseat.

Air Midwest operates EAS routes (i.e. PHX-FMN, PHX-HII, PHX-PRC) that it selects. It has a code-share agreement that is significantly different than that of Mesa Airlines and Freedom Airlines. Air Midwest sets the schedule and HP puts their code on it.
In the Mesa and Freedom agreements, HP builds the line for each aircraft (i.e. destination, schedule, etc.). Mesa and Freedom just show up with the planes, crews, and a bill.

Probably not. If they did, those birds would be in America West colors instead of YV, US, AND HP colors on just one a/c.

I've heard this too. J.O. has openly admitted they are shopping the Air Midwest entitity but have not been able to find a buyer.

Yes the F8 B1900 rumor is true. They are going to put one B1900 on the F8 certificate in PHX. The plane will be primarily used for certification purposes right now. They are/have hiring 4 FOs and 4 CA's for this plane. There is a job posting on climbto350.com for B1900 CAs and FOs in PHX. Sadly it sounds like Freedom is here to stay..

In the meantime, they'll keep screwing with the Air Midwest pilots.... like those in Florida, or those in Ponca City stuck to reserve at DFW. And the supposed new Grand Islane, NE crew base. Or the guys stuck in Athens, GA flying up to CLT in the morning to sit in a hotel room all day then fly a round trip to AHN and back before returning to AHN for the night.
