I've booked MEL-MAN next Sept using QF FF points. For reasons I won't go in to here, forced to go via SYD, HKG and LHR on way out. Now since SYD, HKG, LHR, MAN, LHR, HKG is 6 transits, QF won't allow for this to be booked on a FF reward itinery, so the actual itinery is SYD-HKG-LHR-MAN-LHR-HKG-MEL.

I need to book a flight MEL-SYD. The flight out of SYD departs at 10:45 which means an ideal flight would be QF129 since this is an International flight MEL-SYD (no changing of Terminals) and allows 2hrs for connections.

BUT - Sept in MEL can mean early morning fog !!

So, if I check-in at MEL and present both my MEL-SYD and SYD-HKG-LHR-MAN coupons (electronically at least!) presumably I would be checked through to MAN - but what happens with rewards bookings if a connection is missed?
