One more destination to Europe by CO from EWR is due to be anounced at the end of the month.
Which European city will be the lucky one?
I hope it´s PRG, but there are speculation about Moscow Domodedovo Airport and other cities.

Was Moscow officially announced, or was it just the typical a.net speculation?  Smile

I saw on a Czech web site, that CO asked permision for flights to Moscow Domodedovo Airport, I have no idea if this info is true or not. I hope not (I still hope CO will make it to PRG).

They have applied for permission to fly to DME, but why would it be on Czech's website when nothing has even been announced by CO?

On the web site, it only said CO applied for permition to fly to Domodedovo, there was nothing like "CO will definitely fly to DME!". It was just about this application.

Apparently, DME is a sure thing as long as CO gets approval from the DOT (which shouldn't be much of an issue). According to the filing, the DOT will submit an answer on October 27.

As for other 757 destinations, PRG, BCN, and even CPH or HEL have also been repeatedly mentioned as possible additional destinations.

CO has filed the paperwork for both Lagos and Moscow, and there are strong rumors that CO will open service to these destinations, but nothing yet has been announced by CO with respect to these services. Service may commence for the Summer 2005 schedule.....but its not yet definite. Service to both Moscow and Lagos will likely be with 767-200ERs; CO has been flying atleast one EWR-LAX roundtrip per day with a 762 recently, so there is an aircraft "available" to start up at least one of these route - probably both routes could be introduced with some adjustments to the schedule and/or adjusting some current aircraft/route allocations.

There is good reason to believe that CO will announced another "European 757 destination" out of EWR - Prague seems to be favored, although Copenhagen or Barcelona are still possibilities.

I vote for Luxembourg City! Tarom was supposed to initiate JFK-LUX before they pulloed out of JFK altogether. Maybe CO could feed off of the EU diplomatic traffic between LUX and both New York (UN) and Washington DC?

Barcelona would seem a logic choice- more logic than Prague due to better yield-potential.Prague is still very much a "backpackers" and cultural destination for many americans ,whereas Barcelona would be both- business and cultural destination.Chances to attract a relatively good C-Class potential into Barcelone seem higher than into PRG.

I know this mean seem crazy, but ive heard rumours about a 3xweekly 757 service to LPL!!!! I doubt very much this would take off, especially given how close LPL and MAN are, literally 30 minutes away.
