Thailand's biggest budget airline, Orient Thai has expressed an interest to start a Hong Kong based budget carrier, under a joint venture with the city's own regional player CR Airways.

`China is the target (market),'' Udom said in an interview in Bangkok. "In the very near future, there won't be any restrictions'' for carriers to fly between Hong Kong and China.", as he was pointing to the new China/Hong Kong air service arragnment which forsees a significant liberalisation in aviaition market between the two regimes.
