Mexican LCC Azteca will start linking Mexico City and Torreón.

AeroMexico is the only airline with direct service from MEX. Just browsing AM.com a fare of MXP $5,209.71 or 520USD with taxes appeared on my screen! According to the article ZE will offer a r/t fare of MXP $2,200.00 or 220USD plus taxes, this is, someting near to $3,100.00 MXP or 310USD with taxes! Still high, but at least fare will decrease in 210USD!

Very good news from ZE and for TRC!

Good news for both TRC and ZE.
However, poor laguneros. Over 800,000 people living in La Laguna (Torreón, Gomez Palacio and Cd Lero together) and yet they only have 3 airlines (AM, ZE and JR) serving 4 routes (MEX, TIJ, GDL and LAX). Of course there is Aerolitoral also flying to a number of domestic destinations but with trully prohibitive prices.

Seems like it is a underserved city... I know there will be people saying "if current airlines only provide 4 routes that is all that this given market could support". Still, I believe that this market could perform better if the right product with the right price is offered... Come on, we are talking of almost 1 million people with some large industries (dairy, textil, intensive agriculture, metal-mechanics, etc)!!!!!!

They also have CO serving IAH 2 x day and AA serving DFW 1 x day and from there to the world... not bad in my opinion!!
