744s For Corsair, When?

Corsair reportedly has signed to aquire a few UA-744s some time ago (that is about one year ago). When will this deal be put into reality? Last I read (maybe 2 months ago) was that the first registration is reserved.

The first aircraft is ex-N191UA.

It's been delivered to the parent company TUI at the end of August 04.

It should enter in service within a few weeks/days.

I thought CorsAir already had 744s? I've seen LOTS of pictures of airlines such as CorsAir flying low over that one beach in Dutchland (a.k.a. KLM territory).

So N191UA will be the future F-GTUI.

Airgeek12,
the Corsair "744"s you "saw" were 743s.

Just found a note that N186UA will be F-GTUI with Corsair, and the other UA 744s to move to France are N183UA, 184, 188, 189 and N191UA.

So how many pax will SS squodge into these new monsters then ? They manage to squeeze about 550 into a 743 - will they go for a new record on the 744 ?

Will SS keep their funny registrations (F-GSUN, F-GSEX, F-GSEA) and put them on the 744s or will they dissapear?

I guess they´ll keep their meaningful registrations as Virgiin does. If always funny, I don´t think so. F-GTUI has a meaning, TUI being Corsair parent company.

I hear Corsair really likes to stuff their planes like sardines. So what's the configuration for their 744s-- 600 people?.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

So there will be 8 more seats. 5 in business ( from 25 to 30) and 3 in eco on the main deck at door 2L (as there will be 1 lav vs 2)... so 588 pax...
They will be in TUI livery...

588 pax ? That's just plain cruel ! And squeezing in 3 more pax and taking out a toilet to do it, you wonder how they get away with it. Remind me never to fly SS !

F-GTUI is the former N186UA and is still in Mobile AL. It not there because of weather, it is there because it is not put together. I doubt it will fly for another month. The next Corsair 744 with be the former N188UA. It is in Mobile and that mod has not started.
