AM anounced that they will cut flights from some destinations such Cd. Obregon and Los Mochis with the MD´s to MEX, and replace them with the Aerolitoral´s -145´s fleet.
But as far as I know Aerolitoral doesn´t fly to MEX, and they don´t even have permission to go there. Does anybody know if Aerolitoral will actually fly to MEX??
AM´s representatives said that they are suposed to start flying the 145´s to MEX next November 8th, but nothing appears in the reservation system.
Actually, in the reservations system, the direct flight from Cd. Obregon to MEX no longer exists from November 8th and on..
Does anybody knows something?? I will appreciate your information, since I use that flight very often for work, and also many people in the region will be affected if that flight disappear..
Thanks for your help..

5D it´s supposed to fly MTY-MEX with their jungle jets, Los Mochis is operated by the saab340 and also HMO, they hope to get some new ERJ´s i november and december.
The reason for the MTY-MEX with the ERJ is because for some flights the MD, 737 is too much, so they will offer less seats, but more occupation.

The problem is that they will have to use Terminal 2 in MEX.
If you board through the regular terminal, you will be place in an AeroCar (Bus, not People Mover) and be taken to the other side of the runways (Terminal 2). In fact, it'll be like flying with AeroMar.
No so comfortable for this airport.

Aerolittoral has operated within Mexico for years. I have flown on a F 27 from MEX to San Miguel de Allende before. Right now AeroLittoral, Aero Caribe, Mexicana and AeroMexico are held by the Mexican government, all soon to be sold off to independent investors, all soon to be individual airlines again.
Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

Right and still there is NO AM service from CEN to MEX and LMM might lost AM service in the next days.

Right! AM requested MEX authorities permission to let 5D enter MEX. IN fact AM started flights from CEN to MEX with EMB145 only for 3/5 days. Later on, permission was denied to the airline for an unknown reason.
But fortunately I had the chance to snap a pic during their 3-5 days of operation:
AM´s representatives said that they are supposed to start flying the 145´s to MEX next November 8th, but nothing appears in the reservation system.

Precisely, that's the point! AM is putting pressure on SCT or DGAC don't know who has to grant permission to 5D in order to enter MEX.
GAP (Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico) has very high landing and tax fares for the airline and passengers. A daily MD80 is too much for the city with these high fares! AM wants to reduce costs and be more efficient bringing EMB145 with 50 seats. Apparently the governor and external people with zero knowledge in aviation gave their opinions but they don't SEE the real reason behind!
AM is currently playing nasty, warning and threatening this cities saying they will stop flying unless they authorize 5D's entrance. If they don't give permission LMM will be loosing service also! Perhaps, might be a big chance and a good time for Aviacsa and Azteca to put their eyes and start flights to LMM and CEN!

They have these high fares for CEN, in order to increase HMO users.. Many people from Cd. Obregon and around, have to use HMO instead of CEN, because the fares are always much lower if you depart/arrive to HMO. I have to mention, that Hermosillo is 2.5 hrs driving from Cd. Obregon, so is not that close..
It seems that they are forcing the whole state of Sonora to use HMO, wich BTW is always packed..
The point is that there are actually enouhg PAX to fill not only one MD80 daily, but two. Is just that all those PAX are flying from HMO, because they are forced to do so, due to the high fares at CEN. I´m sure that if they had better fares for CEN, this flight would be profitable, and always with high loads..
And I still without understand why they (GAP people) just invested millions in CEN, if on the other hand, they seem to be trying to make it disappear..
Anyway, thanks Ricardo for your info.. Everything looks more clear now.

If they do that before the merge with MX, I can't imagine how difficult it's going to be at some of the current destinations...once merged...they will be even more arrogant.

Guys, sorry to rain on your parade but CEN does NOT belong to GAP (HMO does), it belongs to the Federal Goverment (Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares) so it's ASA's fault that fares to CEN are so high and this is also because CEN cannot achieve economies of scale having so little flights and those few flights having to absorbe the bulk of the operating costs on the ground.
