Hey, with that red nose it reminds me of Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer...... That said I'm not the worlds biggest Airbus fan but the A380 is starting to grow on me, but I'll reserve final judgement till I see it painted

Excellent.
we have seen many pictures, but I have to say that these ones (especially the second one) are the first pictures I've seen where the awesome size of this thing is really visible. Seeing the guys standing right near the engine and seeing all the stairs up the (cool!) tower to the second floor really gives some perspective.
I'm a bit curious as to how old the pictures are, as while I think they are definitely the newest ones we've seen, I would actually expect that 001 is a little further along than that, by now.

I've got a video of the ailerons tests but it is too big for me to upload and I do not know if I am able to do so anyway.
We have also pics of the first mini-cabin installation. Basically they have already installed overhead stowage compartments, window panels, etc...
Concerning the monitors, we use them on the Final Assembly Line for verifying the parameters of the cockpit actions.
They do not emulate the navigation displays but are used for voltage levels, ARINC command words verification, etc, etc when a specific action is done in the cockpit. (Like moving the throttles for example).
No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.

Not trying to be critical here, just observant. Looks like the upper row of windows may be a bit low even once your seated. Just guessing by the two interior pics above, but it looks a bit like the Bombardier regional Jets. The window is shoulder height on the 50s. Anyone else get that impression?
Nice pics by the way!

When I first saw the A380 I wasn't impressed at all. I thought they should have got in a stylist or something just to pretty the thing up. But thanks to these new photos I am now converted. I think it looks great and can't wait to see it fly.
Cheers all
and with that..cabin crew, seats for landing please.

Wht are some of the panels (especially the one in the front) a different shade of green? Are some composites instead of aluminum? Overll- this thing looks huge!

They have reached a point in testing where they simulate actual "flight" on all airplane systems from takeoff to landing while it is static.
"Pleasing to the eye" is not a real important priority in designing an airliner so I won't fault Airbus too much if the airplane gets it job done....but it is ugly. It reminds me of "Red October" when looking at the head on view.
The upper deck windows do seem low to me as well. I really dislike that about the CRJ. Maybe once the cabin is finished it will be at the normal height.

Well, at least it's not as ugly as it was before, though by no means is it a looker. Now it is beginning to look like a real airplane at leas. Is the A380 going to be as wide as the 747? I ask because somebody mentioned a cramped upper deck.

In those cabin pics they were putting overhead bins in the aircraft. Do they install that interior stuff for all the testing? Or are they already making the ones that are going to be delivered to the airlines?

Thats one big, ugly airplane. But it is living up to it's name...Airbus. A real busload of people in the air. I too think that the windows are too low on upper deck from the photo's. What a cattlecar!
