Finally... it's come up here on the forum several times and I've been wondering what the latest is with the construction at Kennedy as well. This is from Jetnews employee questions and answers (11Nov04).

"Q. When will our new terminal at JFK be completed and opened?

"A. All things remaining as they are today, we look forward to having a portion of the new terminal open, late Spring - early summer 2005. When the new terminal is completed, we will close and demolish terminal 9. Concourse "C" gates will also open at this time.

"The new facility (modified for budget cuts) is currently expected to be completed in 2006 or 2007. At that point we expect to move completely from terminal 8."

Great news--thanks for the update. It will be great to finally see AA in a nicer "home" at JFK.

Anyone have an updated rendition of what the new modified terminal will look like when it's completed? Also will they demolish Terminal 8?

I'm pretty sure they will demolish T8, as I was looking at the proposed space plan, the new terminal takes up a LOT of where T8 now stands. I can't wait to see the completed terminal, though.

Next trip: SLC-LAX-JFK-LAX-SLC on AA, gotta say goodbye to my beloved 762!
