Hello

I was at MAD today, and as I was taxing to my gate, I noticed a brand new A340-600 with its engines and strobes on sitting by the hangar.

The A340-600 was EC-EZY, Iberia's newest addition to the fleet which joins EC-EZX.

Also I saw a Varig 757 I believe the reg was EC-JHA or something like that, does anyone know any info on when this bird will be sent to Brazil?

thanks

VARIG already received two 757s ex-IB (PP-VTQ/PP-VTR), both delivered last month, and currently on VARIG's operations Northeast Brazil-GRU-EZE and GIG-GRU-LIM.

PU (Uruguay), which is managed by VARIG, also operates a 757.

With the 757 VARIG completes the circle and has operated all Boeing aircraft!

Hardi

Hey

Is Varig going to recive another 757, or was this 752 just in MAD for checks?

I am sure the 757 is in MAD for checks!

On Wednesday last week, 3 November, the RG 757 (ex-IB, delivered to RG on 25 October) flying the route EZE-GIG-REC-SSA had to do an emergency landing in POA (at 9am).

The plane was full with 150 pax in Y and 19 in C.

Pax were then transferred to a RG flight POA-GRU with the MD11.

According to VARIG there were technical problems with the 757.

WHAT WONDERFUL PLANE!!! 8-P

BTW: IT'S impossible a new plane like an A340-600 can be registred as "EC-EZY" this new registration is "IZY" ....... it's EC-IZY

EC-EZY is a registration from 1990/91. It might be a MD-80 series (on IB or JK metal) B-737 (IB or UX) or a light aircraft (according to airfleets.net's data-base ...there's NOT any EC-EZY registration, so it must be a light aircraft registration)

The new A340-600s are actually EC-IZX and EC-IZY (just look at the fin of the one photographed).

Pluna's 757 arrived in late-2003, and is ex-National.

Saludos,

ZXV

Don't worry, AlitaliaMD11  Smile
But I still I'm curious about that registration, EZY... I think it's not from an airline.

It is very easy!. Go to http://www.aire.org/rnac/.

Pd. EC-EZY belongs to a Piper PA28RT-201 Turbo Arrow IV (I-1991).

Thank you very much, Dme! Do you know if this Piper PA28RT has base in Madrid? I saw, two years ago, a Piper PA28 inside IB's Hangar-3 at MAD. I remember it well because it was just between an A343 and a B747-300.
IB has a MD-87, delivered to IB from Long Beach on Oct 31, 1990 as EC-306 and then, on Jan 14, 1991 the definitive Spanish resgistration as EC-EZS. So EZS is the nearest resgistration to EZY (... ezt, ezu, ezv, ezw, ezx and ezy)

AlitaliaMD11,

Another a.net member (S.p.a.s.) corrected my information under another thread. So please correct my reply 2, above. Ex-IB 757, to be operated by RG reg PP-VTS, was the a/c you saw in MAD. This will be the third ex-IB 757 to join RG fleet. The 757 which suffered an emergency landing in POA was seen operating for RG already the day after/two days after.

Tks,
Hardi

With the same thing in mind, when I first read this I thought EasyJet had taken delivery of its first aircraft for its new (which I'd heard nothing of) MAD hub...  Nuts

Another beautiful Airbus 340-642 for Iberia painted in their beautiful colors.  Big thumbs up Great to see IB taking delivery of some new 'planes! Big grin

I've flown EC-EZY. It's a PA- 28 turbo Arrow. It belongs to AeroMadrid pilots school and it's usually located at Madrid Cuatro Vientos Airport LECU.

It used to fly pretty well, I remember a nice flight between LECU an LEVD in winter, overflying the mountains covered by snow........

I knew it! I knew it!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy  Smile/happy/getting dizzy  Smile/happy/getting dizzy So... Is it from AeroMadrid with main base in Cuatro Vientos??? I knew it!!! And I saw it two years ago, on the IB's Hangar-3 at MAD!!!

I will ask to AeroMadrid how much is it to get the private pilot! On that EZY PA-28, of course  Smile

Hi Anxebla:

The Private Pilot course costs 5000 euros aprox, depending on the school and plane. AeroMadrid used to fly Piper PA-38 Tomahawk (alias "Tomasa" for friends) in this course, but I don't know what you do know....
Perhaps they offer you the option of doing it on TurboArrow....

Do you know why EC-EZY was in MAD???

This is the plane:

I saw a Piper PA28-RT on the Hangar-3, at Barajas Airport (see my reply nº 9)
And I think it was this EC-EZY.

TACAA320,

No, this was not the aircraft involved in the incident at LIS. It was EC-IZX.
