New start-up airline FLYBLU, which will be based at BHX is to start selling tickets on its transatlantic services from BHX on 15th December. Flights to Orlando International and St Petersburg will start in time for the easter rush, with Fort Lauderdale coming online in July of next year, according to an e-mail i received today.

Yes they were supposed to start in June this year, but they postponed. Not sure if this is a good sign or not? On one hand, could mean they are very disorganised and promising things they cant honor. On the other hand it could mean that they are very professional and wanted to take time to ensure everything was right before they rush into launching operations. I'd like to think its the latter...
Yes, they're not that cheap, but their emphasis is not transatlantic lo-co, but great service at good value. Their onboard experience seems to be similar to the new First Choice cabins we'll see next year. And anwyay, looking at the prices the charter airlines charge for long haul flight only, this could work.
I'd like to see this suceed... but who knows... time will tell
