Connections Between Maritime Law And Aviation

Does anyone know what connections there are between aviation and Maritime Law? Specifically, I'm aware that the Captain of a sea vessel has the power of marriage. Does this power also extend to aircraft Captains? That is my main question, but any connections between the two would be interesting to know in my opinion, (traditions, codes, vernacular, etc).
