Just caught this on my MyYahoo.com local news page .

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=413&e=3&u=/kitv/20041117/lo_kitv/2458537

Guess that's the last time he does that for a while ...

Question ... Is this wingnut banned for life, or blacklisted (or red-flagged) by a reservation system's database?

Any behavior such as the behavior displayed by this person should be considered highly serious. This person should be bannned from traveling anywhere by air. That's just my opinion.

The story does not go into detail though on what happened to the guy during the flight. I hope the FA got some help from fellow crew and even passengers! And 20 years does not seem like enough time in prison either.

Not only is what he did a federal offense, he could have killed her if he has aids. I say ban him from ALL airlines. Put his name on the Federal HOT SHEET.

Well I have a feeling that with 20 years in prison, he won't be doing much flying for a while...

Wish I was working the flight. At 240 pounds and not all fat. He would have been pinned and cuffed for starts ! Plus being that close to the flight deck door and pulling that stuff is not smart and in the best interest of his breathing ablility ! What an indiot !

Jumpseat70 - A little off the topic, but it's not possible to contract AIDS from saliva - I thought this dangerous fallacy had died in the 80's. Guess not.

He allegedly pinned a flight attendant to the flight deck door and repeatedly spit in her face.

Probably one too many times flown on TZ.

What an indiot !

OH HELLO!! One can contract HIV virus from saliva, especially if the person has bleeding in the mouth, whether from trauma or if existing sores or the gums are bleeding. Many persons in advanced stages of AIDS have bleeding gums. This is a myth propagated by those who tout prositution and say HIV cant live in saliva and oral sex without a condom is safe. It can happen.

According to the doctor who just tested me for all STDs (clean), you cannot transfer through saliva. The chance is less than the chance of transmiting HIV when you use condoms consistantly and correctly for vaginal or anal sex. That is beside the point as this is about someone attacking an FA. I would have loved to see Flyguyclt manhandle that guy.

Even if that individual did have sores/bleeding in his mouth he would have to introduce the virus directly into the blood stream in order to infect another person.Meaning it would be necessary to spit into an open woundy - very unlikely. Contact with infected saliva with an orifice (mouth, eyes) is extremely extremely unlikely. Such a statement, eventhough true is very specific circumstances, does more harm by implying to the public that AIDS can be contracted from casual contact, i.e. using the same toilet seat or drinking from the same glass. Also, I'm far from tauting prostituion and I'm not sure there's any intelligent authority out there who would dare suggest that sex without a condom is safe. .

i doubt he'll get 20 years...maybe 2-3 years (5 max) and be out on probation after a few, but he will be on the dreaded "passenger list" (hopefully) and I don't think he'll be flying on an U.S. carrier for a while....and I sure in heck don't want to see him either..piece of trash.
