"No more flights and no more ticketing. Volare group suspended all its activities, as reported by
people near unions. All the aircraft will remain parked at various airports until further decisions from leasing companies."

Translations of an Italian press release:

At the moment these planes are grounded by lessor:

I-PEKE A320 in Malpensa
I-PEKF A320 Orly
I-PEKG A320 Bucharest

EI-CUQ A320 Catania

it's actually not Venice but Trevisio airport that is affected by the grounding of Volare.

No, it is VCE, Volare did not fly from TSF...

Sad loss, but you could say they had it coming. I do feel sorry for the employees and of course the thousands of stranded passengers though.

From what I now Volare and Air Europe are currently under a common management, but some say that their long-med range routes are bleeding seriously.

Even though Volareweb seem to be profitable It looks like it will go down with the rest of the boat ! ! !

Air Europe brand got gobbled up by Volare. In the end the remaining PE routes were flown by Volare crew as the PE crew pool was disbanded.

First the PE A320 crew got integrated into Volare.
Second PE 777 crew were sent to Volareweb, those who did not want to join got the sack.
Third... this is the end.

Losses became heavier when Volare dabbled into the long haul with the A332s. Volare treated Air Europe as their back up airplane in the end, screwing up Air Europe charter commitments. In the end Volare wanted to kill Air Europe's brand. The 772s ended up a "poor state" in terms of reliability, so PE's clients moved to Volare.

It is rumoured the charter route Malpensa-Nagoya-Sapporro-Malpensa incurred penalties by the charterer after the A332 took the route.

Volareweb had a disastrous start, but then recovered, and maybe it was too late... By then, I got no further updates...

Anyone got other info?
I feel sorry for those friends from Air Europe... those who left, and those who remained with Volareweb...  Sad  Sad  Sad

I think the real troubles began with Volareweb introduction... but maybe it was also wrong what VolareGroup have done with Air Europe on the charter and long haul markets, as you said; in fact Volare Airlines brand was doing fine along with Air Europe until Air Europe disappeared and Volareweb started.
let's wait and see what will happen now...

VolareWeb has some nice assets which I could see in interest for other carriers.

They have 12 daily flights from Milan Linate and 10 into Paris Orly. Maybe AirOne which recently has begun it's first international route (FCO-NCE) will use this chance to expand internationally.
I am not sure if Alitalia got enough governmental money to invest there.

Well, it was problematic when Volare decided to kill Air Europe's A320 network and then set up Volareweb... What they wanted from Air Europe was their network and aircraft... Look at Volareweb's fleet, I-PE**... Whateve happened to Volare's own A320s?

Volare's treatment of PE 777 crew was horrendeous!

In short, a professional airline got gobbled up by SAir group, and then the startup member (Volare) took PE over and messed it up!

It seems that all other Italian air-operators were pretty much aware of what was going on at Volare. For instance Myair is already flying daily out of Bucharest Baneasa to Bergamo and Venice, while Alpieagles is flying out of Bucharest Henri Coanda - OTP and Timisoara to Venice - VCE !!!

I would assume at this point that all other Volareweb's international destination are fully covered as well. To me that's a pretty good indication that Volare is not coming back anytime soon . . . Unless Alitalia (???!!!) decides to take an interest in Volareweb. I remember while ago reading that AZ was somewhat contemplating to just do that ???

Indeed looks like everything is over now even for Volareweb brand.

Why would you ferry those aircraft all the way to Winnipeg if not for repainting and restoring them to the original two class configuration !?
