I just realized that LH has loaded a flight to Island in their next summer timetable. They will fly FRA-KEF with an CRJ!

But it's a weird schedule. It's 3times oneway and daily on the other. Also the e-timetable only gives it as an connection via FRA but not as an route from FRA itself.
Can anybody say me what the true schedule is? Is it loaded in the CRS?

I can't remember that they ever flow to KEF by themself, just Condor. But it would be a nice route for the summer. But a real stretch for an CRJ.

I can't find this flight at all - it's not loaded in Amadeus, at any rate (and it would need to be, if LH plans to sell it at any stage). Where did you see the flight ?

All I can find are daily FI services, and a weekly HF 738.

It just misses needing ETOPS, which the plane would probably never recieve because it was not built for it and has high enough seat-mile without adding that. Then again, it is built on the same platform as the Global Express and that goes long over water all the time

These flights are not for sale - subject to a complete Traffic Restriction blackout for some reason. Maybe they're charters.

Even with ETOPS-60 this flight is possible; the question is: do I want a 4-hour red-eye flight on a CRJ? The answer is probably no, but if there is no other choice ...

This flight would have to be seriously cheap in order to tempt me not to fly with the proper alternative - an Icelandair B757 - instead.

Considering it is a LH, it most likely will neither be cheap nor otherwise offer a higher service quality compared to Icelandair. Big grin

Wild guess of mine (have to re-check that), but these could be exclusive flights for a tour operator, like LH Citylines' flights to SNN, to increase utilzation of planes off peak-times. These are not open for sale either.

Ya, or the FKB-NAP service a while back, also CRJ.

But which tour operator would buy a daily flight? Once, twice weekly, ok, but daily? Strange, y´all please post if you find out something new.

Damn, I was already sensing the first opportunity ever to get to Iceland on a Miles & More award flight...

Looks great, especially the return flight, I always wanted to do a four hour red-eye flight in a CRJ full of Icelanders who are empty the onboard bar because alcohol is for free on LH flights  Yeah sure.
