Can anyone confirm what is the status of 9M-AAP painted in the "LAT cartoon" livery after its runway overrun on 7 Nov 2005?

What damage was sustained and has it returned to service?

KC, I heard from a friend that Air Asia do not plan to repair the aircraft.

Thanks Daryl, I am surprised to learn of this as all press accounts and statements after the incident seem to indicate a very minor affair. This means it would be a write-off - a pity, it has a beautiful livery.

Thanks again.

Will try to pop by the airport the next couple of days and let you guys know if it's still here at BKI. Last I saw, its tail was sticking out from the hangar across from T2.

Well, was driving past this afternoon and 9M-AAP is still stuck in the hangar here at BKI. Anyone care to shed some light as to how her inactivity has affected AK's operations lately, bearing in mind how they are reputedly maxing usage of each and every aircraft at their disposal ?

As far as I am aware the aircraft is on lease from GECAS and they are planning to repair it, if they have not already started.

If it's not broken, don't fix it !
