Let's keep these tri-stars coming! The Royal Air Force (RAF) had an L1011 here on Saturday.

TY Tim,

I started that Nov 7 thread.....................again thanks for the heads-up.......I haven't checked flytecomm yet today.

I didn't get out last time it was here ( really foggy back then )............where did it park last time it was in town?

I saw this aircraft at LHR this afternoon when I landed, parked by terminal 4. Obviously it was stopping off on the way!

The flight plan to MSP has been filed. If on-time, it's calling for a departure from EWR at 9:00pm EST and arrival into MSP at 10:14pm CST.

I'm not sure where it parked last time. Who on a.net saw the last L1011?

Usually when these planes come in (747 was the last one I saw) park out next to the Mesaba MX hanger. I believe they come here for people to go shopping at the Mall of America. Sounds like they want to experience hell to me!!!!! Shopping the day after thanksgiving! Now that takes a pair!!!!!

Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing! It's a bonus if you can fly the plane again!!

Seen a UAE 744 back in March and it too parked near the the new XJ and SY hangars.....of course it was just a ramp back then.

Nice place to get shots of Charter stuff in the winter now too!

Can't wait until 17/35 opens!!

I was also going to say most likely the Mayo clinic in Rochester, MN

May be follow up visit to Mayo from the 11/7 flight.

My first thought was the Mayo too. I really don't see charter from Saudi to MOA.

Haha! Saudis flying 8,000 miles to go shopping in Minneapolis. Yes, I know Mall Of America is very big an' all, but they have shops in the Middle East. If I lived in Saudi, I'd go to Beirut or Dubai, or to get the full experience, London (an Arab capital). And if I was an American, I wouldn't be too excited about Saudis coming in and out of my country! Didn't they attack y'all just recently? Oh right, Iraq was responsible. Sorry.

I hear that it is scheduled to depart on Sunday night at around 9pm. The charter is for the Mayo Clinic, although I dont know much more. I would guess that the L1011 dropped off the VIPs at MSP and RST back on the 7th and that its now back to pick them up.

Wrong forum cedarjet.

People are interested in the aircraft type.

I wonder if the RAF L1011 visit is related to that British Airways charter into RST a few months ago. Maybe someone going back to Mayo for a follow-up visit?
