Is It "Safe" To Book US Airways For Feb./March?

Just like the title asks, would it be safe to book 5 rountrip tickets from SYR to SJU on US Airways for February 22 or 23 to March 1 or 2? If they go under (hopefully not, regardless of whether the tickets are purchased or not), what will happen if the tickets are purchased?

Thanks to all who respond  Smile.

February is pushing it... but March?!?! That would truly take an act of god mate. I suggest you save your money and book on another airline.

Probably not a good idea... but if you must be sure to use a credit card so you can get your money back....

Wait until January and then purchase the ticket.

Even using a Credit card and being that far out you would still possibly have a challenge to get your money back.

I'm rather surprised by this one PanAm., your posts and statements are usually much better than this.

No one on here can tell you if its safe to book on US for 3 months from now. Not even Bruce Lakerfield can tell you that. If you're concerned about it, then book with someone else. Keep in mind that if the worst does happen, it could happen while you're on the beach in SJU then you'd have a hell of a time getting home probably.

Well, I booked MIA-PHL-SYR-PHL-MIA for March 1 as a show of support (also, only cost me $10 as I cashed in the last of my FF miles for the trip). Did the booking about a month ago.

With the Flight Attendants talking about employee actions such as CHAOS, I would purchase a ticket so far in advance........
