As a airline rep at gatwick for a major charter .... travel city direct is a tour op that charters Air Atlanta and there check in area is extremely busy.... they need more space but thats gatwick problem not the airline.... they are gen very well priced but have incurred major delays this summer... prob guarante that they will have at least 1 24hr delay during the peak summer in a week. The Air Atlanta reps and travel city reps are great guys and girls and will do all they can to help you. the service on board the flight is meant to be extremely good and many people have commented on the proffessionalism of the crew.
All i will say... great company to fly with (staff etc) and good prices too but they do use the old 747-200's which do go tech quite often.... i do believe that they are meant to be using the 300 series for next summer ... but hey... we will see.

Hey there,the first 747-300 is due very soon..TF-AME ( may become G reg),its an ex Corsair aircraft and will seat approx 530 people, and will be MAN based, a -200 will continue at LGW until approx March, when a second -300 will join, also ex Corsair.
On board service is excellent, -300 will have 15 cabin crew. The nose section on the aircraft seat 22 passengers, and is an excellent service, dealt with by 2 cabin crew, and involves champagne on boarding, PTV, 50inches legroom, leather interior, 4 meal choices, wedgewood china dishes...
Economy also has full leather interior, TF-ABA has PTV through out, 3 meal choices for economy, free drinks, free entertainment...better than most charters
Delays have been plentiful this summer, many caused by hurricanes, and the usual knock on effect.
Some also caused by night time flying restrictions ( not allowed land at LGW prior to 6am). Dress code being introduced in April for Upgraded cabins.

Yea, I flew with them last year, albeit with European Air Charters, not Air Atlanta craft. Service was 6 hours late outbound due to major delays earlier in the week (they still hadn't caught up several days later). Half the audio wasn't working during Harry Potter. Food and service fine though.
Don't book the "reserved seats". It's a con. All you get is the likelihood of your group sitting together. You cannot specify where you want to sit.
