I'm trying to book a flight from LIT-POA on AA. A couple of months ago I was doing the same thing, but there are no direct flights from the US to POA so we have to stop over in GRU. A couple of months ago it was AA for LIT-DFW, AA DFW-GRU, and Varig which it said was a codeshare from GRU-POA. Now I just checked and it said they don't serve POA, which was no surprise but it didn't have the Varig flight on there. I widened the search to include all airlines, it then gave me the options of AA LIT-ORD, UA ORD-GRU, then a flight that said UA then the flight number and then said it was operated by Varig. Now the prices have jumped significantly. So any suggestions or answers would be much appreciated.

AA codeshares with JJ, not RG...so that might be the problem, however I don't understand why no JJ flights showed up...did any? Which fare search engine did you use?
When are you planning to go on this trip?

PPVRA, no, no JJ flights showed up. I used AA's website as the search engine. The preferable dates are March 24- April 3rd. Thanks for the help!

Very strange indeed, maybe AA only code shares with JJ on to/from MIA fights. Try to contact AA for more info...I found this on UAs website, check it out: (through ATL)

Just go to UAs website and enter the data, it gave me a route through ATL...price seemed reasonable...no idea if it's a good deal or not though, I'm not familiar with this route.

PPVRA, The only problem with UA is they don't fly out of LIT so I have to fly AA to ORD which ups the price significantly. Thanks for the info guys!

If you can make the trip up to XNA UAX just started service to there you might be able to find a more reasonable price from there! I came up with $1481.50 on the UA website....its UAX operated by OO from XNA to ORD then UA to GRU then UA operated by RG to POA and the same on the reverse. Or even better MEM POA on UA is only $1157.00! I think MEM is closer to LIT then XNA is.

RG has agreement with UA and JJ with AA. Orbitz has very good offers LIT-POA for less than USD800 http://www.orbitz.com
Second option is if you buy a separate ticket GRU-POA. You will note that RG and JJ codeshare on this route so you can book a RG flight and find yourself flying a TAM metal!

Thanks for all the help I'm still looking around. Unitedtristar, thanks I'll do a little research on that I never thought of driving to XNA or MEM. You are correct MEM is about 3 hours away, XNA is about 5 hours away. Again thanks for the help guys!
