Delta had very strong numbers during the Thanksgiving holiday, despite almost 8 straight days of WX/ATC irregular operations. Just a small thanks and congratulations to all Delta folks on a.net who worked your but off this past week.

Delta flew more than 1 million passengers during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend while posting a completion factor that never dropped below 99.2%.
"That's really incredible performance – truly reflecting the effort by our line maintenance and all of our operations folks," Joe Kolshak, s.v.p. and chief of operations, said of the completion factor.
Despite snowstorms in the Midwest and thunderstorms in the Atlanta area, Delta managed to maintain strong on-time arrival and departure numbers for the holiday period that ran Wednesday through Sunday. Thursday and Friday had the highest percentages of on-time arrivals, exceeding 84% and 93%, respectively. Those numbers helped keep November's on-time arrivals at 77.6%.
Delta operated 99.9% of all scheduled flights on Sunday, which was among the busiest travel days of the year. More than 300,000 people flew with the carrier that day.
"I look forward to our December ops to see what other holiday miracles we can pull off," said Kolshak. "But since it is December and the winter weather is settling in around the country, I encourage everyone to take extra caution – especially those of us who work outside."

Had very good (for the most part) flights on DL this weekend. All flights were at 90% capacity minimum, 2 were full. In-flight crew were excellent, and ground crew, with the exception of one agent at MHT that I have had problems with before, were excellent.

I flew round trip Thanksgiving week from Islip to Tampa connecting in ATL southbound and CVG northbound. Southbound on Nov 21 were around 90% of capacity. Northbound on 11/28 were at 100% full.
Service was basic Delta, but good Delta with Flight attendants smiling and nice beverage service. The pilot announcements were frequent (even football scores). Pilots and FA even said good-bye very nicely. Overall planes were clean and right on time.
I had not been thru CVG for many years. It is a nice connecting point. Even getting from Concourse A (mainline) to Concourse C (Comair) by bus wasn't bad. It was fun to drive by bus past all of the International 767's.
Last night I just booked my Christmas Holiday Tampa trip. Leave Dec 22, Return Dec 26. This time Song roundtrip from JFK/TPA for $226.70. Awesome fare from a great airline. Go Delta/Song.

Thanks for the Congrats Otto, and Thanks to you as well for doing such a wonderful job (I am sure you did) I know my friends said it was a good week in the skies, and that everyone was happy, including emps and customers. It is people like you Otto that make Delta such a great airline...

If you work for DL you should be ashamed- This type of attitude towards the airline that employees you, just makes comments from people like JetBoi sound lidgit. Pull you head out of your A**- Its Christmas/Hanna./Kawanza...etc. Etc. ITS The Holiday Time...Be Happy! Be happy you have a job! The morale here on the East coast and in the Midwest is really high! So stop being a whiner and bringing others morals down!...thanks
If you don't work for DL then you have no place to speak...remember You are speaking about people on this forum's jobs. Be considerate...I Know my friends wouldn't appreciate the sarcasm or the comment.
Either way LONO no one is going to respect you or your comment on this board if you cant be respectful towards us. Like thumper said...If You can't say something nice- don't say it at all.
Thanks again Otto for making DL a great airline..Keep working hard...it Could be a worse situation at DL so lets remain happy and our positive attitudes will bring Delta back to the powerhouse we used to be!

Congratulations. Those are impressive numbers even without irregular ops. I believe that it is this kind of performance that will ultimately determine the success or failure of airlines, not who cuts the most or who wins labor disputes. The best job protection you can get is to post numbers like these. Nice job!

I second the good job by Delta....even though my first flight on Wednesday (HVN-CVG) was late on arrival I still made my connection to DTW and arrived at Metro 3 minutes early, thanks to a 2 hour, 15 minute original connection window. Everyone I encountered was busy, but not too busy to be polite.
On my return the DTW-CVG portion (on Chautauqua) was significantly delayed and it was obvious on check-in I wouldn't meet my connection. Rather than ticket me, put me on the flight, and stranding me in Cincy, WITHOUT me even asking the check-in agent got me endorsed over to US and routed through Philly to ensure I had a better chance of arriving home that evening. Furthermore, while waiting for my delayed US Express flight the ComAir agent sent in a request on cue to have my NW World Perks account credited with 1500 Elite qualifying miles to make up for what i would have earned in my travel with Delta Sunday evening. And although my night was up and down from there, I did get home that evening (1:00 am-- about 2 hours later than DL would have been if they were on-time)...but for the fact that I got home at all Sun. night, kudos to the Detroit-based employees of Delta. You haven't forgotten the meaning of respect.

Please accept my apologies.... I was being very sarcastic.. I am a retired DL employee and I have seen DL make some major blunders in the past...
I was out of line due to (no excuse) one too many beverages!!!
So please accept my apologies... I respect DL's employees but not past management decisions that put DL in this predicament... I am pulling for DL since I am a FF member and lifetime crown room member... and have many DL friends... soooooo....
Sorry I wasn't thinking when I made the comment.. I will be more thoughtful in the future...
Good luck to DL in with its new direction and plans.... and to all the DL crew that makes DL happen.... I know DL will be kicking some major (and LCC!) ass in the future!!!
