How many Saabs does ATA connection have? And are they just going to call it ATA connection?

Interesting choice, but good way of retaining some of the loyal ATA market on the Indiana side of SE Chicagoland.

if assumptions could fly, airliners.net would be the world's busiest airport

So my guess is the Chicago Express service will be dismantled around Jan 11.

Guys Come on This service is great. This will be able to feed the large chicago population and hey who knows if the connections are good then ATA might have to put some mainline into GYY.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

They need to serve 1C5 with those Saabs.  Big grin Actually, though, DPA would be nice.

Unfortunately, IND-BMG is only 40 miles or so. Not far enough to justify it. To do BMG, you'd have to serve it from ORD, MDW, STL, CVG, etc.

When are they starting the IND-LAF service?

I hope ATA has bigger plans to turn themselves around they just fly Saabs in the state in Indiana.

I guess it's good. Periodically I drive from Chicago to Indianapolis. But the first hour or more of my drive is just getting through the Chicago traffic to the Gary area. After that it's a pretty easy 2 hour drive to Indy, plus I have my own car to drive around. So, I doubt that I will ever use that service. If I really wanted to fly (and sometimes I do), WN is easy from MDW.

IND-DPA is actually an interesting idea as recent media reports have indicated that DPA would like some commercial service, and is willing to invest in the improvements necessary to make this happen (ARFF etc.). IND-DPA wouldn't be much, but it would be a start. The western suburbs are growing at a ferocious clip.

where will they be adding, does anyone know? A few weeks back there was an American Trans Air into CRW on the flight tracker, except it was a business jet, so im assuming it was managers/execs. Why would they be here? possible service to CRW from IND?

I guarentee that biz jet in CRW had nothing to do with ATA. Those flight trackers often have errors, or there was some other company with a similar name.

ATA owns Execujet Charters in IND. This aircraft is often used by George in his business travels, but can also be used to ferry parts and crew around the country.

That's it . . . Gary is the kiss of death!
Many airlines who have served Gary have gone the way of bell bottom jeans. Southeast just went under and now I wouldn't be superised to see ATA go too.
