Well, it looks like they'll be a new vacation airline taking to the skies VERY soon. http://www.gosvo.com is a strictly vacation 'hot spot destination' airline operation out of YHM and Niagara airports. Leasing a 727 and all! Wonder how long this on 'ill last?

Any guesses?

Looks like they are doing well. Small operations are happy operations...

N.F. charter air service geared to Ontario customers
Charter flights to Mexico, Florida and the Dominican Republic will begin departing from the Niagara Falls International Airport in December, officials announced Thursday.

The flights can be booked through www.GoSVO.com.

Most customers will reside between Hamilton and Niagara Falls where the distance to both Pearson International and the Niagara Falls airport is equally inconvenient, said GoSVO President Irina Lazareva, whose company will charter flights on an unnamed U.S. airline.

Starting Dec. 17, a flight will depart for Cancun and every Saturday starting Dec.18, a flight will leave for Punta Cana. On Saturday, Dec. 18, service begins to Orlando's International Airport each weekend. Flights will be on 176 seat 727 aircraft.

GoSVO has for a limited time an introductory seat sale with fares available on all flights at bargain prices, such as Cancun for $399 plus tax.

A luxury airport coach transfer with pick-up points between Toronto and Niagara Falls will be available for those wishing to leave the car at home. Free parking on site will be available to customers who drive their cars to the Niagara Falls airport.

So that would be either Planet or Champion?

I think calling GoSVO an airline is a stretch. They appear to be a tour operator that charters a real airline to operate their flights.

Interesting that they don't name the airline, since if they themselves don't have a air transport license and aviaition document they are required by CTA regulations to name the actual carrier.

Are they operating out of Niagara Falls, Canada...or Niagara Falls, USA?

Dakotasport;
I tried their website and the YHM website and neither mentions flights out of YHM. Any additional info?

Also, can someone please explain under what rules can a foreign airline operate flights out of US without having any flights out of its own home country.
I am sure it is one of those xth freedom rules that I never quite understand!!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

That would have to be Niagara NY, and Hamilton. I don't think a 727 can fit at Niagara-on-the-Lake and I can't think of any other decent sized airports in the Niagara region on the Canadian side.

The flights are out of IAG, there are no flights out of YHM with them. Interesting that you can't find the name of their carrier anywhere on the website, which makes me suspicious straight away. Which US charter airlines operate B727-200s and B737-300s?

In checking out the FAQ on their website, I found this interesting tidbit...

Q: Is the U.S. border a pain in the neck?
A: Provided you have the right documentation and don't look like Osama Bin Laden there should be no problems. Allow for some delays at peak times.

Classy, eh?

You've gotta be kidding me...

From their FAQ page:

Q: Will my fat butt fit the seat?
A: If you generally experience discomfort and over-hang the next seat you should purchase a second seat - we'll give you a good deal.

Q: Does GoSVO accept unaccompanied kids?
A: No. We love kids, but we don't need this extra hassle.

Gotta be fake or something.

YSN (St. Catharines/Niagara District) has an 8,000' runway.
