It's a rumor. I stated it in the "major airlines vs. swa" post. My follow-up post describes what might happen if the AA-US thing occurs.

AA has some major union happenings going on and this is a fact. If its regarding a merger who knows. They just settled with the last aquisition and I don't think their contract is up so what else could it be though. Does anybody have a crystal ball to look in to?

There was an article in the Washington Journal about American Airlines seeking a closer relationship with US whether they will make them partner in oneworld, merge or buy them is yet to be seen but pilots at both airlines are discussing it openly with the media. Im sorry but something does not have to be confirmed by the actuall airline for me or anyone else to post about on this forum.

I can't see US Airways getting into One World. If I'm hot mistaken, US Airways and British Airways want nothing to do with each other.

The top levels at US Airways, from what I understand, want a landing slot at Heathrow SO BAD they can taste it. And if BA won't give it up, I don't see US Airways jumping into a partnership with them very soon.
