I saw on the US Airways timetable for this winter that they will be utilizing an A-330 on a round trip PHL-SJU-PHL.

US1470 PHL SJU 0945-1422
US98 SJU-PHL 1530-1832

I thought that was interesting they would be using it on a non-European run. I can see why though. Nice to see that on a fairly domestic trip.

They do use it every year on this route. Its a big capacity/cargo route for them.

They have been using it PHL-SJU since they first got it! Not on a daily basis but it always there.

As opposed to unfairly domestic? SJU is in the US, so it is completely domestic. They are getting some use out of the plane while it is not flying to europe. That is a very good idea, especially on a heavy cargo route..

The A330 was also flown to MIA for a brief period a few years ago as an extension of the FCO flight...

A330 has been on PHL-SJU daily since the type was first delivered.

I will be on 98 SJU-PHL tomorrow.

I flew on US Flight 98 from SJU to PHL earlier this summer in Envoy Class. Was just over 4 hours if I recall. Nice flight!
