FedEx Tail Discolouration?

I've seen some great answers to interesting questions, so I thought I'd join and ask one myself.

I am curious why the A300 aircraft pictured in the centre (N660FE) has very unique weathering on the tail, especially compared to the tail in the left and right of the plane in question? It is more obvious with the late-day sun, hence the yellow glow/hue to the picture. Usually FedEx machines are pretty well kept, from what I have seen.

Is it purely weathering? None of the other photos of "N660FE" on a.net have a good view of the left side tail, so I can't get an idea of how long this discolouring has been there.

Are you sure it's not the sun reflecting off of the other a/c's fuselage? When the sun hits N660FE the reflection would bounce off of it and hit the other a/c, then that reflection would go back to N660FE, maybe hitting the tail. Just a thought!

I think you ment about N660FE, If so, probably some kind of water, or just the sun if the other aircraft you are on about.

More then likely it was a leaking actuator. Skydrol is nasty, it will eventually cause the paint to discolor, bubble and peal off. Skydrol leaks are common, you will see them from control surfaces and running down the belly towards the tail on most any type of a/c.
