Read an ad in the local newspaper to today, that they are looking for pilots and Dir. of Flight Operations. In the Ad it says West Caribbean Aruba and West Aruba. The logo used, to my amazement is the same as the new logo of West Caribbean Airways from Colombia.

Is this another hoax for a ghost airline for Aruba. We have been thru many since Air Aruba, i.e. Royal Aruba Airlines, Aruba Exel. Even there has been issues of an Air Aruba International.

In anyways, if any one know, if this West Aruba is related to West from Colombia.

It would be great to an airline to operate for our island.

According to some other thread I read last week, where West new colors were unveiled, West Colombia is to set a subsidiary in Aruba like the one they have in Costa Rica.

Dunno, those were talks, to replace K8/LM not FQ! BTW, anybody heard from Steven Liesdijk from Lion Air?

Captspiff,

I heard a friend mention his name, Steven Liesdek. A friend of mine told me that he was involved in that MD80 crash in Indonesia and that he was the only one of the 3 pilots that actually survived. They said that Steven broke his arm in 2 spots or something. Sure hope he's doing okay now!
Didn't he use to fly in teh Caribbean (LM or FQ)???
