I don't get your question - are you questioning the advantage of alliances at all or of star specifically?

They get alot of high revenue feed from LH/SQ/UA for their domestic flights is one the main benefits, in addition to building customer loyalty by being able to offer your clients the benefit of cashing in their air miles over a much larger network of carriers on a worldwide basis. Does that answer your question? I'm hoping that 9W becomes the Indian Star partner. They are a great airline.

Sri Lankian Airlines and Emirates should join Star as well... both are great airlines.... and would be great airline feeders to their respective regions.

Star is the biggest and most comprehensive airline alliance in the world, so all the member airlines have huge benefits. Star Alliance helps the smaller airlines to fill their aircraft which in turn creates more profits for the small airlines that would otherwise find it hard to fill their aircraft.
