Well we have gone past the deadline for new bids on Friday. Shouldn't we be hearing something soon about which way this deal is going? There always seems to be a leak.

Anyone hear anything yet?

It will probably be somewhat of a split, I doubt it will be a winner takes all proposition. Now as to whom would get the larger piece of the pie.....

I dearly hope AirTran gets the bigger piece. Now if they can only work out a code-share deal with Frontier....

I wonder if WN would be satisfied taking the remaining 3 gates on their concourse, leaving it all Southwest and leaving all of B to Airtran?

If I make a reservation to fly ATA to SEA via MDW on feb. 19 and ATA ends up leaving MDW completely...what would happen with my ticket??

WN has a MDW-SEA nonstop, so if no one honors it you can at least find other options

One question is if AIrTran gets the deal, how will they begin their schedule at MDW?

If AirTran gets the deal, a plan is already in place to start up several cities using AirTran aircraft in January. I wouldn't want to get into specifics as this information has not been made public but, I will say that the initial markets served with AirTran aircraft are all existing AirTran markets and will be served with a mix of 717 and 73G's. The markets range from west coast to east coast.

Quickmover,

Did you mean Southwest will take over the remaining gates at B and leave
B all Southwest? AirTran, ATA, and Delta have one gate each at the end
of B.

That's what I meant as a good possible outcome, but I didn't realize delta was in the mix. It would be a good solution, but I doubt delta would cooperate.
